Rotor Blade From Houston to Brazil

Transportation of rotor windmill blade from Little Rock, Arkansas to Gamesa, Brazil

Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica, is a Spanish manufacturing company principally involved in the fabrication of wind turbines and the construction of wind farms.

Shipment arranged in association with our long-time client: Interoceanica Chartering & Logistic, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The large turbines (resp. 42 and 76 Mton) were to be moved from Zaragoza to Pasajes & Bilbao respectively.

The blade ex Little Rock was loaded to trailer July 12th PM and released by the QC inspector (Bureau Veritas) July 13th in the morning. We delivered to port July 14th 10:30 AM. Vessel arrived same day 17:00 hrs. for immediate loading. A perfect coordination of cargo readiness and vessel arrival.

This was the first of 40 blades ordered by Gamesa from LM Windpower. LM Wind Power (formerly LM Glasfiber) is the world’s largest independent supplier of rotor blades to the wind industry. LM Wind Power has produced more than 185,000 blades since 1978, corresponding to approximately 77 GW installed wind power capacity which each year effectively saves approximately 147 million tons of CO2. This corresponds to the annual CO2 emissions from electricity used in 20 million (US) homes.
